Black Maternal Health Week: Reel-to-Real Conversations


Friday, Apr. 12 | Wisconsin Black Historical Society/Museum, 2620 West Center St. Doors open at 5 p.m., Program starts at 6 p.m.

In celebration of Black Maternal Health Week, we invite you to join us for a thought-provoking Reel-to-Real Conversations event. Created in collaboration with Ubuntu Research and Maroon Calabash, this film and conversation session will explore the diverse perspectives and personal experiences of Black mothers and birthing people, shedding light on important issues within maternal health.

Saturday, May. 11 | The Pfister Hotel, 424 E Wisconsin Ave. Doors open at 7:30 a.m., Program starts at 8 a.m.

The 3rd annual Black Maternal Health Symposium, presented by GE Healthcare, stands as a pivotal platform addressing critical health disparities and alarming rates of Black maternal and infant mortality. This event convenes the state's leading maternal healthcare professionals and community advocates to facilitate a unique learning experience and promote interdisciplinary collaborations.

Summer of Soul:
Outdoor Marketplace & Concert Series


Every other Wednesday, July 10th - September 18th | Peck Pavilion - Marcus Center for the Performing Arts Grounds | 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The Summer of Soul: Outdoor Marketplace & Concert Series (SoS) is not just another summer event. A unique collaboration between Culture x Design and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, SOS is a night full of diverse entertainment,  local artisans, and food vendors under the open sky for audiences of all backgrounds and ages. Best of all, it's FREE.
